English Abstract:
【Abstract】 Objectives: To systematically analyze the top 100 highly cited papers in the Web of Science Core Collection on re-fracture(RF) after percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) and percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) using bibliometric methods, aiming to reveal the core research forces, collaboration networks, hotspot and trends, as well as the shortcomings in this field. Methods: Based on the Web of Science Core Collection database, relevant literatures published from 1999 to 2025 on the topics involving RF after PVP and PKP were retrieved. Focusing on the top 100 cited papers, bibliometric methods were adopted to quantitatively and visually analyze their citation characteristics, countries/regions, research institutions, publishing journals, core authors, and keyword evolution. And a cross-analysis of research topic clustering was carried out using Venn graphs. Results: A total of 375 papers were included. Among them, the top 100 highly cited papers were cited 7,219 times in total, with an average of 72.19 citations per paper(range: 25-329). Among the to 100 highly cited papers, China pulished 46 papers, and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital(7 papers) and Chang Gung University(7 papers) were the main research institutions; The United States published 22 papers, with the Mayo Clinic(6 papers) as the main research institution. Spine contributed the most(12 papers); Among 540 authors, 8 were core contributors. Keyword trends showed a significant increase in PKP-related research. Venn diagrams revealed that existing research was mostly limited to single areas(such as complication analysis, surgical method comparison), and cross-category comprehensive research was scarce. Conclusions: In the RF field, the United States and China are the independent cores, and there is a lack of intercontinental research. The existing research is mostly limited to a single dimension, with insufficient cross-integration and prominent research heterogeneity.
