  本文综述了国内外常用的几种关于脊髓损害的功能评定方法，并提出了一个新的四十分评定法。此方法用数字描述颈脊髓损害患者的四肢运动功能、感觉和括约肌功能情况，较细致全面地反映病变的程度，把颈脊髓损害所造成的残疾分为四级，与中残联制定的肢体残疾整体功能评定相一致。经实践证明四十分法对颈脊髓损害功能的评定是较为合理简便和准确的。
